| You Can Be A Net Control Operator |
| All that is necessary to be a net control operator is: |
| a. membership in ECARS |
| b. FCC or Canadian issued amateur radio license with privileges in 40 meter band (7.255 MHz) |
| c. desire to provide the service to those checking in |
| You do NOT need to have a big station to be a Net Control Operator. |
| - a 100 watt station is fine. |
| - a functional antenna. While a tree hung dipole is probably the most popular among the net control operators, verticals are also used. |
