East Coast Amateur Radio Service

Change of ECARS Officers

From The President Ernie Parsons W1RXH

For the past two and a half years I have served as President of The East Coast Amateur Radio Service (ECARS) During this time it has been my pleasure to work with some  great guys, but it is time for me to attend to some past obligations that I have neglected. I therefore submitted my resignation as President of ECARS effective on June 15th 2008.  For the past few years Along with my ECARS  Duties, I have been  the administrator of a local Food assistance program in the church that I serve in as an associate pastor, it consumes a considerable amount of my time. I also have a younger sister that I have not seen for more the two years. She has had two very serious deep brain surgeries that has left her some what immobilized. Several weeks ago she fell in her bathroom and broke her back, I need to spend some time with her. I am in my late 70s and would like to spend the latter years of my life free from as many obligations as possible, and I want to spend more time with my wife and kids.

This seems to be the right time to step down and make room for an excellent replacement, our current Vice President and outstanding Amateur Mr. Kelly McGuire N3FQG. and welcome aboard our new Vice President KA1SE Mr. Luke Lauretano.

The past two plus years have been very rewarding and I have made many great friends. We have accomplished much during the past few years. ECARS is a very smooth running organization and is in the hands of some very capable folks. I want to THANK everyone for what they have contributed. I wish the very best for ECARS and all the Officers, Directors and Appointees and the many non-official folks that have made the organization such a great success.

To repeat what Joe WY3T always signs his messages with KEEP UP THE TRADITION.

My Very best 73s and GOD BLESS each one of you ERNIE W1RXH
